Duties and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Validation Services Manager you will be expected to:
1. Test System Development & Strategic Planning
• Develop, document, and continuously improve the company reliability test strategy, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Lead the design of comprehensive reliability test plans for key products
• Define test conditions, sample sizes, durations, and acceptance criteria based on product use cases, failure modes, and reliability goals.
2. Team Leadership & Technical Guidance
• Manage the daily operations of the reliability test team, including workload assignment, performance evaluation, and capability development.
• Provide expert technical guidance to test engineers, reviewing and approving test plans, procedures, and reports to ensure technical accuracy and validity of conclusions.
• Organize and conduct internal training on reliability engineering principles, failure analysis techniques, and statistical tools.
3. Test Execution & Failure Analysis
• Oversee the execution of all life tests and reliability validations
• Lead root cause analysis for test failures, utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies (Ishikawa, 5Why) to identify design, material, or process-related defects.
• Establish and maintain a failure case database to document lessons learned and drive preventive actions into design guidelines.
4. Data Management & Reporting
• Ensure the integrity, traceability, and statistical validity of all test data.
• Prepare and present detailed test reports, reliability summaries, and trend analyses to management and cross-functional teams.
5. Standards, Equipment & Compliance
• Manage the full lifecycle of reliability test equipment, including procurement, calibration, maintenance, and upgrade plans.
• Ensure the test laboratory environment meets all requirements
• Lead the introduction of new testing technologies/methods and apply automated testing systems (such as LabVIEW, National Instruments, or customized test benches) to improve testing efficiency and data accuracy.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Collaborate closely with VS Engineer, Quality to integrate reliability requirements into the product development process.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency, coverage, and technological capability.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
2. 10 years+ working experience in a Laboratory environment. Extensive experience in Household Appliance testing.
3. 5 years+ experience in managing a Lab Team.
4. Experience in generating work instruction, SOP & evaluation of the equipment and fixture
5. Demonstrated high level of engagement and self-motivation, Strong communications and interpersonal skills: presents ideas in a style that is clear, fluent and to-the-point
6. Action/result oriented: Achieves high level, sustainable performance and results; is bottom-line oriented; steadfastly pushes self and encourages others to grasp ownership for achieving timely, quality, agreed upon results; is highly energetic;
7. Demonstrated decision making capability: uses logic and insight to solve problems and create effective solutions.
8. Possess fluent English speaking and written communication skills, able to use it as a working language for technical discussions with global teams (such as overseas headquarters), write English test reports, and interpret English standard documents.
